Happy Holidays

The lights are up, the tree is twinkling and we are more than ready to welcome guests for this Holiday Season!
Everywhere in the Mad River Valley the story is the same plus like all small New England towns we are enjoying the pre-holiday festivities ourselves.

Sugarbush hosted their annual Festival of Lights celebration this week recognizing the great holiday decorations around the Valley and generously donating awards in the names of the winners to chosen charities.  The creativity this year was exceptional and when you are here be sure to check out some of the winners.

There is a wonderful Carol Concert scheduled by the  Mad River Chorale group at Harwood High School on December 23rd if you need to get into the spirit and lots of great shopping opportunities for any last minute gifts.  Be sure to check out the new boutique talented fashion and jewelry designer, Sherri Deflavio, has just opened 4orty Bridge which is right at the corner of Bridge Street and Route 100 in Waitsfield and joins the amazing Artisian Gallery and Not Just Blackboards also in this vicinity.

During the Holiday Week, the main guest focus is usually around the outdoors but for those coming up to celebrate the New Year, Sugarbush is promising another spectacular fireworks display on December 31st which always is one of our favorite holiday moments.  Don’t forget to make reservations for New Year’s Eve prior to arrival if you can to avoid disappointment.  Great options this year include a dinner and dance package at Timbers, and great festive dinners at the Common Man, Chez Henri and 275 Main Street at the Pitcher Inn.  Other local restaurants are offering less formal dining…check out our Local Dining page for more suggestions.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!
